What The Prediction does
Each day at twelve twelve, the server places a point at random in a square of a thousand by a thousand. Before noon, everyone has touched, in the same square, the place where they felt that point would be. At twelve twelve the point is drawn, sealed, revealed; everyone sees their point beside the real one, and, if there are enough of them, what the group did.
The point exists nowhere before twelve twelve: not in the database, not in memory. It comes into being at that instant, sealed by a secret and its fingerprint, and no one at the Centre can bring it forward or change it afterwards. How to check

Each bar is a prediction. Upward, your point was closer to the point drawn than chance would have placed it, seen from the same place; downward, further. The line follows your mean. A single day proves nothing; a mean that stays above the chance line, over dozens of days, deserves to be looked at.

The minute of preparation is assigned at random, one time in two: nothing else separates these two rows. Even so, it takes dozens of predictions on each side before a difference means anything.
Day by day
Why “at random” changes from one day to the next: a point placed in the centre of the square is, on average, closer to any draw than a point placed in a corner, at 382 out of a thousand against 764. Each prediction is therefore compared with chance seen from the exact place where you put it. Over the whole square, this mean is 521.
The Prediction is a matter of observation, not of care, and not of measuring an ability. It has no diagnostic value. A near or distant point says nothing about you; only repetition, over thousands of predictions, allows a lasting gap with chance to be observed. The data kept is described in the privacy policy, and what will be published, as well as what will not, is written in the protocol.
