Centre EPÉU — Residential retreat

La Perception — the perceptual retreat

The third stage of the path, after the Mental Treatment and La Maîtrise.

Six days, individual, at Centre EPÉU — Château de Villereglan

Who it is for

La Perception is the third stage of the Centre’s path, after the Mental Treatment and La Maîtrise. It is intended for those who have completed the first two, in whom the mastery of mental states is installed and maintained through practice — and who now want to train perception itself: summoning it voluntarily, refining it, placing it in the service of something.

The order is not a formality. Training perception without the mastery installed is opening the river before having learned to hold it — the Centre does not offer that, and will not offer it to anyone. Admission takes place upon a consultation with M. Mischa Harmeijer, with the same measurable condition as for La Maîtrise: a regular practice of the daily Δ Delta-Score record since the end of the previous retreat, kept with constancy — the quality of the scores does not come into it, including and above all the difficult days. The decision is taken at home, at a distance from the Centre.

The principle

A mastered perception is an available perception — one must still learn to use it.

For six days, the work bears on use: summoning perception cold, when one decides, on what one has chosen; directing it towards neutral contents, which do not concern you; distinguishing what is perceived from what is fabricated; and verifying. Verification is the heart of the Centre’s method: each exercise has a result that can be observed, and it is the observation that teaches — not conviction.

Each day includes an individual interview with M. Mischa Harmeijer: the previous day’s work is analysed, the day’s work is adjusted. It is this daily, individual follow-up that constitutes the nature of this retreat — and that strictly limits its number.

The precise course of the six days is not published: it is individual, and it is set out for you during the consultation with M. Mischa Harmeijer that precedes any admission.

The image of the vessel and the river is set out in Perceptibility — a report of observation and synthesis.

Residential retreat

This is what La Perception offers.

6 days · €2,800

Six days in residence at the Château, individually. A daily interview with M. Mischa Harmeijer, structured perceptive exercises with verifiable results, and the Δ Delta-Score record as the week’s thread of measurement.

The ends of the day are free and silent: perception is also trained through rest, which is precisely where it consolidates.

You leave with your personal training programme — that is the week’s criterion of success, not its supplement.

Afterwards

There is no stage above. What follows La Perception is practice — yours, at home, over time, supported, whenever you wish, by consultations with M. Mischa Harmeijer and by the Centre’s Rencontres. A trained perception is not a culmination: it is a tool, and a tool is worth what one does with it.

The setting

La Perception is neither care, nor therapy, nor a personal development course.

It promises neither gift, nor extraordinary faculty, nor result: the training produces its effects through practice and its upkeep, at a rhythm that varies from one person to another — and some exercises fail for a long time before succeeding, that is their nature. It is not a substitute for any medical or psychological follow-up — if you are currently being followed, the written agreement of the practitioner who accompanies you is required, as for all the Centre’s approaches. What is guaranteed is what depends on us: six days of structured work, a daily individual interview, and a programme to continue.

You may interrupt your stay at any moment. That decision belongs to you entirely and does not have to be justified. The setting is demanding, it is never a constraint: nothing holds you at the Centre. The conditions applicable in the event of interruption appear in the general terms and conditions.

Ongoing psychiatric or psychotherapeutic care

Admission remains possible, subject to the written agreement of the practitioner who follows you. This document must attest that they have been informed of the conditions of the retreat, namely six days of individual work in residence, and that they see no contraindication.

If this document was not requested from you during your consultation with M. Mischa Harmeijer, it will be required at the time of registration.

In the event of suicidal thoughts or immediate risk, this retreat is not suitable — call 15 or 3114 immediately.

The first step

A consultation with M. Mischa Harmeijer.

Admission to La Perception never happens by simple registration. It always begins with a consultation with M. Mischa Harmeijer.

During this interview, M. Mischa Harmeijer listens, observes, and looks at where your practice stands since La Maîtrise. He assesses whether La Perception is the right answer for you, at this precise moment of your path. If it is not, he tells you clearly — and directs you towards what will be more fitting for you.

What precedes admission

The condition is the same as for La Maîtrise: a regular practice of the daily Δ Delta-Score record since the end of the previous retreat, kept with constancy. The quality of the scores does not come into it — including and above all the difficult days.

Definitive admission is pronounced at the end of the interview. If it is confirmed, a date is set, and the precise course of your six days — individual — is set out for you.

As each day includes an individual interview with M. Mischa Harmeijer, the number of retreats conducted each month is strictly limited.

Make an appointment

La Perception belongs exclusively to a process of perceptive training. It constitutes neither a medical act, nor psychotherapy, nor a care programme. If psychiatric or psychotherapeutic care is ongoing, the written agreement of the practitioner who follows you is required before any admission.

Your questions

Is this for everyone?

No — La Perception is reserved for those who have completed the Mental Treatment and La Maîtrise, and whose daily practice is maintained. A consultation with M. Mischa Harmeijer determines whether it is the right moment.

Can I do it without having completed the first two stages?

No. Training perception without the mastery installed is opening the river before having learned to hold it — the Centre does not offer that, and will not offer it to anyone. The path begins with the Mental Treatment, then La Maîtrise — the mental training retreat.

What is the condition of admission?

A regular practice of the daily Δ Delta-Score record since the end of the previous retreat, kept with constancy. The quality of the scores does not come into it — including and above all the difficult days.

Can it follow straight on from La Maîtrise?

No. The decision is taken at home, at a distance from the Centre, with the practice installed. The order counts, and so does the rhythm.

Where does the consultation with M. Mischa Harmeijer take place?

At Centre EPÉU or by videoconference. It is booked online: make an appointment.

How long does La Perception last?

6 days, individually, at the Château de Villereglan.

Does it promise a gift or an extraordinary faculty?

No — neither gift, nor extraordinary faculty, nor result. The training produces its effects through practice and its upkeep, at a rhythm that varies from one person to another, and some exercises fail for a long time before succeeding: that is their nature.

In what language is it conducted?

An individual retreat: it can be conducted in French, Dutch or English.

Is the course of the six days published?

No: it is individual, and it is set out for you during the consultation with M. Mischa Harmeijer that precedes any admission.

Is it a therapy or a medical act?

Neither: a perceptive training. La Perception is not a substitute for any medical or psychological follow-up. If psychiatric or psychotherapeutic care is ongoing, the written agreement of the practitioner who follows you is required.

What happens if I wish to stop during the retreat?

You may interrupt your stay at any moment. That decision belongs to you entirely and does not have to be justified. The setting is demanding, it is never a constraint: nothing holds you at the Centre.

What is the fee?

€2,800, full residential retreat.

When do I pay?

Payment does not take place on this site: it happens at the time of registration, once admission has been pronounced. Its terms appear in the general terms and conditions.

Is there a continuation after La Perception?

There is no stage above. What follows is practice — yours, at home, over time, supported, whenever you wish, by consultations with M. Mischa Harmeijer and by the Centre’s Rencontres.
