A house that has always been lived in
The château was built in the 17th century. It has been in turn the home of local notables, a place where village life was organised, and a place of gathering. It has always been lived in.
Today, it is the home of Centre EPÉU. People come here to follow a teaching or a retreat, and to meet M. Mischa Harmeijer.
In the middle of the village
The château stands in Saint-Martin-de-Villereglan, in the Malepère: hills, vineyards, and in the distance the Pyrenees. Paths lead out through the vineyards.
It is not cut off from the world. It stands in the centre of the village, surrounded by houses and everyday life. This is deliberate. Here, you do not learn silence by isolating yourself: you learn to bring it about within yourself, even when there is noise around.

A place that has stayed true
The château has kept its original architecture: its volumes, its materials, its rooms. Nothing here is made to impress. It is a sober place, and that is what makes serious work possible.

The château is not open to visitors. You enter only after registering for a teaching or a retreat, such as the Mental Treatment, or when invited by the Centre.
This is not to close the door. It is what keeps for the place the calm that the work needs.
