Legal framework

Liability & insurance

The activities of the Centre EPÉU take place within a non-medical, non-therapeutic and non-paramedical framework. This document defines the scope of intervention, the responsibilities and the applicable guarantees.

General scope

The activities of the Centre EPÉU constitute neither an act of care, nor a medical or psychological diagnosis, nor therapeutic treatment, nor an alternative to any existing medical or institutional follow-up.

The Centre EPÉU never acts as a substitute for health professionals, for medical arrangements, or for the legal obligations incumbent on employers in matters of occupational health.

Framework applicable to private individuals

Nature of the activities

The activities offered to private individuals by the Centre EPÉU — training courses, teachings, residential Mental Treatment, individual analyses — fall exclusively within the field of inner training, the understanding of human functioning and the structuring of perceptual and mental capacities.

They constitute neither medical care, nor psychotherapy, nor a diagnosis, nor therapeutic treatment, in any form whatsoever. Any situation falling within the medical, psychiatric or clinical psychological field must be handled by the competent health professionals.

Individual responsibility

The steps undertaken by private individuals at the Centre EPÉU rest on a voluntary and conscious approach, on personal responsibility for their own path, and on a clear understanding of the non-therapeutic framework of the activities offered.

The Centre EPÉU makes no promise of cure, no commitment to results and no guarantee of personal or psychological development.

Confidentiality and respect for the person

Exchanges with private individuals in the context of individual analyses, training courses or the residential Mental Treatment are subject to strict confidentiality. No personal information is disclosed to third parties without the express authorisation of the person concerned, except where required by a legal obligation.

Selectivity and right of refusal

The Centre EPÉU reserves the right to refuse a registration, to defer an admission or to interrupt a programme where the request does not correspond to the framework offered or presents an unsuitable risk. This selectivity constitutes an essential condition of the seriousness and safety of the steps undertaken.

Professional insurance & contractual framework

Insurance

The Centre EPÉU carries out its activity within the framework of professional civil liability insurance covering its interventions, consistent with non-medical training, analysis and transmission activities. The activities of the Centre EPÉU do not fall within the scope of medical acts, care practices or regulated health professions.

Contractual framework

Any intervention — whether it concerns a company, an institution or a private individual — is the subject of a contractual agreement or of prior general terms and conditions, specifying the nature of the approach, the limits of intervention, the respective responsibilities and the financial arrangements.

This framework guarantees legal certainty for the parties, clarity as to the scope of action, and compliance with legal and insurance obligations.

General summary

The activities of the Centre EPÉU form part of an approach of training, prevention and understanding of human functioning. They constitute neither care nor therapeutic treatment, and operate as a complement to — and not a substitute for — the existing medical, psychological and institutional frameworks.
